New System Setup

 

The New System Setup can be access from the toolbar on the Home or Trading tab by simply clicking on the New System Setup icon images\t68-new-system-icon.jpg. The New System Setup will then be added to your interface in the upper right-hand corner with the Manual Order dialog (see Figure 1).

The New System Setup enables you to add new systems from supported signal generators with ease!

New System Setup

1.    Signal Generator

The Signal Generator dropdown indicates where your signals will be derived from and there are three options to choose from:

I.  Collective2

II. TradingSolutions

III.    Custom Signal

2.    Primary signal only

The Primary signal only checkbox is only visible when TradingSolutions is chosen as your signal generator. It allows you to only see fields marked as a Primary Signal in the System Name dropdown list.

3.    Portfolio

The Portfolio dropdown indicates where the new system will be located. New portfolios can be added by pressing the Add button or the New Portfolio icon through the toolbar menu on the Trading tab.

4.    Add

The Add button indicates that you can add a new portfolio directly from the New System Setup dialog.

5.    System Name

The System Name dropdown displays a list of available systems for autotrading. If you are a Collective2 user and do not see any available systems in the list, you may need to Subscribe to a System or Configure the Autotrading Permissions before it will be shown in the listing.

6.    Show Advanced Options

The Show Advanced Options checkbox will enable the full wizard to be launched after pressing the Add System button. The full wizard includes setting up position sizing and limit & stop order parameters. These parameters can be setup on the Asset Grid by right-clicking on the asset and choosing Edit Asset Settings or by double-clicking on the asset itself.

 

To see what advanced options are available for your specific signal generator, choose one of the three below:

I.  TradingSolutions

II. Collective2

III.    Custom Signal

 

New TradingSolutions System Advanced Options

 

Setting up a model/system in Trader68 for TradingSolutions is very straightforward and easy! Trader68 will automatically select the most recent TradingSolutions portfolio opened. If you would like to change your portfolio directory, simply press the button next to the directory path and navigate to where your portfolio is saved. Once you have selected your portfolio, press the Next button to proceed.

The Advanced Options for the New System Setup for TradingSolutions allows for additional allocation and position sizing in this dialog.

Choose TradingSolutions System and Position Sizing

1.    Which TradingSolutions Model do you want to autotrade?

This field indicates to choose which model or models to add to the designated portfolio.

Note: Multiple models/systems can be added at once by holding down CTRL and selecting.

2.    Show primary signals only

The Primary signal only checkbox is only visible when TradingSolutions is chosen as your signal generator. It allows you to only see fields marked as a Primary Signal in the System Name dropdown list.

3.    Position Size Type

The Position Size Type indicates the amount to invest each time a new trade is entered and there are six options to choose from:

I.  Fixed Lots: All trades should be of the specified amount in the Size Amount field. The default Max Size Amount is 0 lots. This option does not take into account specified Leverage settings. If you prefer to use Leverage, please choose from any of the other Size Types.

II. Fixed Shares/Units: All trades should be of the specified amount in the Size Amount field. The default Max Size Amount is 0 shares. This option does not take into account specified Leverage settings. If you prefer to use Leverage, please choose from any of the other Size Types.

III.    Percentage of Account: The percentage of account indicates the asset and/or portfolio will use a user-defined percentage of the available funds for the entire account.

IV.    Percentage of Portfolio: The percentage of Available Funds for the specific portfolio the asset will have alloted. The default Max Size Amount is 10 percent.

V. Percentage from Signal Gen.: The percentage of Available Funds for the specific asset that will be alloted. The default Max Size Amount is 100 percent.

VI.    Percentage of Allocation v. Margin: The percentage of allocation v. margin is the default option and indicates that the position sizing will be based on a percentage of the set Allocation Type versus the margin of the asset.

VII.    Percentage of Allocation v. Value: The percentage of allocation v. value is the default option and indicates that the position sizing will be based on a percentage of the set Allocation Type versus the value of the asset.

4.    Position Size Amount

The Position Size Amount specifies the amount based on the Position Size Type.

5.    Allocation Type

The Allocation Type indicates how a particular asset will handle its position sizing.

I.  None: The None option indicates that there is not a maximum amount restriction upon trade.

II. Fixed-Allocation: All trades should invest the amount specified in the Size Amount field. The default Max Size Amount is 0 dollars.

III.    Profit-Adjusted: Profit-Adjusted indicates the ability to allocate a user-defined amount to the portfolio that adjust based on profit and loss.

IV.    Percentage of Portfolio: The percentage of available funds for the specific portfolio the asset will have allotted. The default Max Size Amount is 10 percent.

V. Weighted Share of Portfolio: The weighted share of portfolio indicates the amount of weight an asset or portfolio carries based on the number of portfolios.

VI.    Percentage of Account: The percentage of account indicates the asset and/or portfolio will use a user-defined percentage of the available funds for the entire account.

VII.    Weighted Share of Account: The weighted share of account indicates that amount of weight an asset and/or portfolio carries based on the account.

6.    Allocation Amount

The Allocation Amount specifies the amount based on the Allocation Type.

 

The Advanced Options for the New System Setup for TradingSolutions also allows for setting up stop loss and profit limits in this dialog.

Setup Stop Loss and Profit Limit

1.    Stop Loss

This checkbox allows you to activate Stop Loss for this particular asset. Using the text field next to it, you can choose a Stop Loss percentage of you choice or keep the default of 5%.

2.    When do you want to allow reentry of the position after a stop loss?

The Re-entry menu options indicate when to enter the same position after a trade is exited due to a stop and there are five options to choose from:

VI.    Immediately after the stop executes: Is the default option and always enter the market on a new entry signal.

VII.    After the model has produced any other Signal: Delay re-entering the position until after any other signal is encountered.

VIII.    After the model has produced a Hold or Exit: Delay re-entering the position until after a hold or exit signal is encountered. This includes opposing entry signals, but not opposing exit signals.

IX.    After the model has produced a Exit Signal: Delay re-entering the position until after a exit signal is encountered. This includes opposing entry signals, but not opposing exit signals or hold signals.

X. After the model has produced an Opposing Entry: Delay re-entering the position until after an opposing entry signal is encountered.

3.    Profit Target

This checkbox allows you to activate Profit Target for this particular asset. Using the text field next to it, you can choose a Profit Target percentage of you choice or keep the default of 5%.

4.    When do you want to allow reentry of the position after a stop loss?

To add another system through the wizard, simply click on the Home or Trading tab on the toolbar and select the New System icon images\t68-new-system-icon.jpg. You can also add a model/system directly on the Asset Grid by typing in the symbol name (see Adding Assets through the Asset Grid).

 

 

New Collective2 System Advanced Options

 

Setting up a model/system in Trader68 for Collective2 is very straightforward and easy! If you do have a Collective2 account, simply type in your Email address and Password and click the Next button. If you do not have a Collective2 account, simply click on the “Take Me There” button, which will launch Collective2 to create a user account. When finished with this panel, simply click the Next button to proceed.

1.    Which Collective2 System do you want to autotrade?
