After typing in the symbol you would like to monitor, you can either TAB or mouse-click the status box next to it to determine the type of asset it is (i.e. Stock, Forex Spot or Futures Contract). Once submitted, the asset is added with the status of “No Autotrading Settings”. To configure the Asset Settings, simply right-click on the asset’s symbol and choose Edit Asset Settings.
Next, click on the dropdown menu for “Signal Generator” and select where the asset will be getting the signals from (i.e. TradingSolutions or Collective2). Once you have chosen a “Signal Generator”, Trader68 will automatically select a periodicity and the default model.
Note: Depending on your data provider, the symbols within TradingSolutions maybe different than Interactive Brokers. If your model is not showing up, please check the symbol located in TradingSolutions and use that symbol within Trader68 in the field for Base Signal Symbol.
Finally, press the Save button located in the top left hand corner of the “Asset Settings” panel and click on the Futures Details tab.
Next, Trader68 can automatically obtain the Tick Size and Tick Dollar Size from the broker by simply clicking the “Get Margin and Tick Information from Defaults” button.
Finally, click the “Save” button and close out the “Asset Settings” panel by pressing the red “X”.
